The Department of Law of the University trains bachelors in accordance with the Federal State Educational Standard of Higher Education in the field of study 40.03.01 “Jurisprudence”. After successfully passing the state final examination, students are issued a state bachelor's degree. Students liable for military service are granted a deferment from the army. The educational program is implemented in full-time and part-time forms of study. Part-time form of study is implemented using distance technologies and is available for getting a second higher education or continuing education on the basis of specialized secondary professional education.

Office of the Judicial Department in St. Petersburg
Department students learn to develop and draw up documents of a legal nature, give opinions on legal issues, perform legal examination of documents and contracts, and prepare to represent the interests of individuals and legal entities in courts of various instances.
The Department of Law prepares a graduate for public service, for judicial and advocacy work, for work as a notary, corporate lawyer, and legal support for business. Our graduates serve at various levels in the Prosecutor's Office of St. Petersburg, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, the Federal Penitentiary Service of the Russian Federation for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region, work as lawyers and legal advisers in commercial organizations, and are active lawyers in St. Petersburg collegium of advocates.
Practice-oriented training
In the field of study 40.03.01 "Jurisprudence", an international educational program of a double degree is also being implemented. Partner university: Capital Normal University, Beijing, China. Upon completion of the training, the graduate receives two state diplomas: Russian and Chinese; speaks Chinese at a professional level; gains experience of studying at a foreign university; knows the basics of law in China.
